Our Church began in 1868.

WE STAND FOR LIVES CHANGED BY CHRIST

Pennsville Baptist Church had its beginning in a building which was located on the present parking lot by the Educational Building. This building was called the “White Meeting House.” It was erected shortly after 1800. The Pennsville Regular Baptist Church duly constituted a separate organization on August 10, 1868. The first official business meeting was held November 28, 1868.


From there, the original church building (Educational Building) was renovated and enlarged in 1968, the Recreational Building was built, the (now) Auditorium was built to accommodate the growing congregation and built an addition of the children's wing as well as a Family Life Center/Gym.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that church isn't just about a building with a cross. It's about people's relationship with God and each other.



This church receives the Scriptures as the verbal and plenary inspired Word of God, and as the sole authority in matters of faith and practice.

Its understanding of Christian truth as therein contained is expressed by the following Declaration of Faith:

  • THE BIBLE

    We believe that the Bible is God’s inspired Word; that it was written by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit; and that it is the inerrant and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

  • ONE GOD

    We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • GOD THE FATHER

    We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

  • JESUS CHRIST

    We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternal and only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, of virgin birth, sinless in His life; making full atonement for the sins of the world by His death through His shed blood. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension, pretribulation rapture of the church, and visible pre-millennial return to the world according to His promise.

  • HOLY SPIRIT

    We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from God to convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify and comfort those who believe in Jesus Christ.

  • SINNERS

    We believe that all men by nature and by choice are sinners, but that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." We believe, therefore, that those who personally receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will rejoice forever in God’s presence and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior will be forever separated from God.

  • THE CHURCH

    A living, spiritual body of which Christ is the Head, and of which all regenerated people are members. We believe that a visible church is a company of believers in Jesus Christ, immersed on a credible confession of faith and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that to these visible churches were committed, for perpetual observance, the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and that God has laid upon these churches the task of urging a lost world to personally receive Jesus Christ as Savior, and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master. We believe that all human betterment and social improvements are the inevitable byproducts of such a gospel.

Why am I here on planet earth? I am here to get to know God.


This will begin with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As Christlikeness is seen, there will be a love for people. People are bruised and broken by sin and the choices they have made. With the heart of a servant, we must reach out to those with the spirit of Christ. In doing so, we reflect Jesus Christ. The world longs to see a living illustration of the power of God.  Our foremost goal is to know & glorify God in all that we do and say. This includes our everyday lives in addition to our church activities.

Men and women everywhere are born to live together, not alone.  As a closed-knit church, we believe we can all walk along our individual paths, together. With a strong shared sense of His love, each member of the Pennsville community can find a way to live a wholesome life of faith while sharing the struggles, happy moments and wishes with other members of the church.

A church grows because of the service of many. We strive to create a loving, safe atmosphere for our community to come and grow closer in their walk with the Lord. And to do this...we need your help!
