Hello PBC Church Family,

We trust that you and your family are staying healthy during this difficult time facing coronavirus.  We feel that it is very important to gather together physically to edify the believers and to reach more people with the Gospel during this season.  If you have not had an opportunity to attend our services, we hope to be able to see you in the near future.

Since reopening, we have not enforced masks but encouraged them for those who attend our services. However, we realize that there are those who are most comfortable wearing a mask and also being around those who are.

In our effort to provide a space for everyone to worship, we graciously ask that everyone that attends our regular Sunday evening services wears a mask while entering and exiting the building until you are seated where social distancing can be maintained.

We trust that this effort will allow more of our church body to assemble together for His glory.

    In Christ,

    Pastoral Staff and Official Board

The PBC Board asks that anyone who attends a church function and tests positive for COVID-19 notify the church office. We would then ask that person for a list of those that they were in close contact with at church so that we can inform them.

    Dear Pennsville Baptist Church family,

“Jesus loves you and so do I!” Let this be our theme through this decisive time of COVID-19. Our 1st Amendment right guarantees us religious freedom. With the exercise of that freedom we make choices.

At this time, based on the information from the Secretary of the PA Dept. of Health, the Official Board has made the choice to follow the guideline which requires that face coverings be worn at indoor gatherings.

At the same time, we respect your privacy and understand that there are reasons for not wearing face coverings.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work together as a congregation and community.

    In Christ,
    Pastoral Staff and Official Board

Please Note: Beginning July 05, Kidz Church (Grades 1-6) class opens and July 19, Age 4, 5 & K classrooms during Sunday morning service are open.

    Dear Pennsville Baptist Church family,

Pennsville Baptist Phase One Reopening - Sunday Worship Service

Please realize that the guiding principle is the health and safety of all our members and staff and to provide the safest environment possible. Love for God demands that we assemble for His glory and for corporate worship. Love for neighbor also demands that we not unnecessarily present a grave risk to each other in our desire to assemble together.

Please be sure to ask the following questions on behalf of you and your entire family before attending any church service or activity:

    • Am I showing any flu-like symptoms? (fever, coughing, shortness of breath or related respiratory symptoms)
    • Have I had a fever of 100.4 or higher in the past 14 days?
    • Have I had prolonged exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
    • Is there any medical condition or risk factor as to why I should not be around others?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, we ask you to stay home and attend our service virtually.

We will continue to live stream our morning worship service at 9:45am.

The following Temporary Precautions are in place:

    • Only enter the building at the front door under the canopy or side door adjacent to the Rec. Building.
    • Hand sanitizer will be available for use in the lobby. We would encourage everyone to use it upon entering the building.
    • Interior auditorium doors will be left open to minimize contact with the door handles.
    • Face masks are strongly encouraged per CDC guidelines. We must all remember that we may be carrying the virus asymptomatically. We want to protect everyone, especially those that fall in the high-risk category.
    • We will have social distancing protocol in place. We will have limited, spaced out seating in the auditorium and overflow. Family groups and couples can sit together but please space yourselves safely from others. The Family Life Center is video equipped and may be used for overflow seating if needed. FLC restrooms will be open if the room is in use. Please respect all signage and/or markings that are in place throughout the building.
    • The only upstairs restrooms open will be the ones in the main lobby and the handicapped restroom.
    • There will be one unstaffed nursery available to use for childcare needs if needed.
    • There will be no hymnals or bibles in the pews, bulletins will not be distributed, and offering plates will not be passed. A retiring offering will be taken in the rear of the auditorium upon leaving the service.
    • Water fountains will be covered and are not to be used at this time. Bottled water will be available. Please see an usher if this need arises.
    • When the service is over, we will have an orderly dismissal by section to exit the building. Please exit the lobby and move to the parking lot to continue conversations. We cannot effectively social distance in the small lobby of the church.
    • We have an “RSVP” system in place for this Sunday’s service to attempt at knowing how many will be attending so that if plans for an overflow area need to be adopted, we can react ahead of time. See our website, www.pennsvillebaptist.com

Please be mindful that we are not back to normal yet and things will be different for a while. Also know that we are working toward returning to full ministries of what we know as Pennsville Baptist Church. Other face-to-face ministries will be restarted only when we are fully capable of providing a safe environment for all concerned.

    Dear Pennsville Church family:

Pennsville Baptist Church is excited to be starting a phased reopening of our ministries starting this Sunday, June 7. We are going to begin with ONLY a Sunday morning worship service at the regular time. We will also continue to stream our morning service through Facebook live and the church YouTube channel.

Please understand that for the time being, we will NOT be having any childcare or nursery. There will be NO children’s ministries that would normally function on Sunday morning—no preschool ministry or Kidz Church. There will be no Sunday School, Sunday evening service, Wednesday night activities or Sunday evening worship service, and all other activities are still cancelled for the present time. Only the auditorium and the restrooms in the lobby will be open Sunday morning.

We will be publishing more information and several guidelines later this week as we determine how to best honor this “green” phase and to best protect our members, visitors and staff.  Please be mindful that we are not back to normal yet and things will be different for a while. Also, know that we are working toward returning to the full and exciting ministry of what we know as Pennsville Baptist Church.  Other face-to-face ministries will be restarted only when we are fully capable of providing a safe environment.

We respectfully ask for your help to allow our reopening to work as a positive testimony for Christ to both our members and our community.

Again, please pray for the staff and leadership. A church of our size faces many challenges that we must work through. Please know that the guiding principles that we are always considering in making our decisions are the health and safety of all our members and to provide the safest environment possible for our congregation from infants to senior citizens.

Watch for additional information later this week that will give detailed safety procedures and instructions as we reopen.

    In Christ,
    Pastoral Staff and Official Board

Pennsville Baptist Church Coronavirus (COVID-19) Announcement & Online Messages

We have received updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Based on the information from the CDC, PA Department of Health, and our state and local officials, we understand the need to do our part to help stop the spread of coronavirus and the time to do this now.

Pennsville Baptist Church will close all services and outside activities until further notice. This includes all church and outside organization functions/activities.

As an alternative to our traditional service, Pastor Murray will provide a message (on Facebook and other possible sources) on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM. Please join us in this message. Directions to find this link:

    1. Log on to www.facebook.com and search for “Pennsville Baptist Church”
    2. Click the Friend Us link.

We know the coronavirus is primarily spread through close contact, and we are committed to helping you and your loved ones stay healthy. During this time of closure, the pastoral staff and official board will continue to meet to review CDC and PA Department of Health notifications, assess the situation, and determine our next steps. We will resume normal operations and services as soon as possible.

The CDC has information to help you be proactive and stay safe. The CDC guidelines are found on their website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus.

When fear and anxiety move into our hearts, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). The peace that Jesus carried He gave to us (John 14:27). So, let’s continue to be wise in caring for our families, to trust that God is in control, and to pray for peace and healing in our communities.

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work together as a congregation and community. As always, if you have any spiritual needs, the pastoral staff will be available to talk with during this time at 724-887-5200. We love you and look forward to connecting with you online this Sunday!

    In Christ,
    Pastoral Staff and Official Board
